The Poulains foreland is probably the most famous site of Belle-Ile. The tragedienne Sarah Bernhard loved this place and had a house here.
In 2003, the "Conservatoire du Littoral" undertook a renovation of this remarkable site.
The beaches of the North coast (Deuborh, Bordery) are sheltered from the westerly winds, but the beach of Petit Donnant (appreciated by Sarah Bernhard) is facing the west and the large swell of the Atlantic ocean.
For golf players, the 13 holes of the golf course located on the West Coast dominate the sea and present a superb landscape. Along the course, you can see the Baguen Hir hole.
